Science has shown that learning happens all through the body. Brain Gym is a movement program that supports the physical side of learning. Brain Gym includes moves and stretches that are designed to increase blood, oxygen, and energy flow to the brain. No equipment is needed, and each move only takes a minute or two to do.

Brain Gym was developed by Dr. Paul Dennison in 1969. It is used in schools all over the world. Students, athletes, even business executives use Brain Gym in order to enhance performance. Brain Gym has been scientifically researched and proven effective in improving student’s academic performance

Brain Gym moves are adopted from many different areas including yoga, athletics, martial arts, and kinesiology. They are designed to promote whole brain functioning by including cross lateral moves. They also target proprioceptors (brain cells in the muscles) by stretching muscles that contract when stressed. This enables us to have better access to the brain-body system. The moves also enhance energy flow as defined by the system of energy meridians (used in Chinese medicine). This includes stimulating acupressure points.

Brain Gym is suitable for all ages. For more information, visit www.braingym.org
