Chair Yoga

BuiltWithNOF

Chair yoga is a modified version of yoga that is good for people who are not able to do the standard yoga postures.  Seniors and handicapped people would benefit from chair yoga.

Sessions are usually a half hour long. Participants sit in their chairs, which are arranged in a circle.  I lead the class through modified yoga postures that begin with breathing techniques, and move through various large muscle groups. This includes neck, shoulders, arms, torso, and legs.

Participants are encouraged and supported in doing their best when attempting each posture. I teach people how to modify the postures if necessary, so that everyone can participate.

Chair yoga promotes circulation, deep breathing, stress reduction, and a general sense of well being.
