Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) is based on the discovery that imbalances in the body’s energy system have profound effects on one’s personal psychology. Correcting these imbalances, which is done by tapping on specific acupressure points, often leads to rapid elimination of negative emotions.
EFT operates on the premise that the cause of ALL negative emotions is a disruption in the body’s energy system. This includes fears, phobias, traumatic memories, and anxiety.
There are many related techniques that all operate in a similar way. Thought Field Therapy (TFT), Energy Psychology, Tapas Acupressure Technique (TAT), Meridian Therapy, are just a few. They all involve tapping along meridians on the body while thinking about the negative emotion. This enables the energy attached to that emotion to be released and cleared from the body, as well as the mind.
I have used EFT successfully on myself and others for many different issues. I have also used it to help reduce or eliminate physical complaints (eg. headaches, back pain). EFT is easy to learn and can be used on your own for a wide variety of problems. It can even be used to achieve goals by removing subconscious blocks that may be in the way.
