I work with students outside of  school in a tutoring capacity. The focus is on teaching the student how to help themselves in new learning situations. Brain Gym concepts are introduced, as well as other techniques that support brain-body learning. The student is then able to use these techniques in school to help them overcome learning blocks.

In an hour session, the first 10-15 minutes are spent doing exercises that encourage a receptive learning state. A goal is set for a specific area of academic study.  We work on the goal during the remaining time and include regular reminders of things to do to stay focused.

My goal is to empower the student to become confident in new learning situations. They will learn how to move, stretch, and breathe in class in order to stay focused. This will promote better memory, health, and alertness.
